Mataveri International Airport is a few minutes drive from downtown Hanga Roa.

Carved wood and stone crafts can be bought at the Art Market (Mercado Artesanal) in Hanga Roa. Handicrafts can also be bought directly from the themselves.

Crystal clear waters provide tremendous visibility for snorkeling and diving. For certified divers, dive gear and dive trips can be organized at the fishing cove in Hanga Roa. The water temperature averages 21C. The best season for diving is November to April. The best swimming beach is Anakena, located on the northeastern side of the island.

transport The Island's small surface area makes it ideal for exploring. Various hire options are available, including Jeeps, Vans, Horses and Mountain bikes.
